Blues Pills – Artist Spotlight
Blues Pills is a bluesy, hard rockin’ outfit hailing from Sweden, France, and America with a thick, swampy attitude, receiving immediate street cred when they signed to the iconic metal label Nuclear Blast Records. The band tears, shreds, and gnaws their way through a sound shrouded in the 70’s led by the sultry, wail of lead singer Erin Larsson, the slow and deliberate guitar playing of Dorian Sorriaux, and the deep rhythm section of bassist Zach Anderson and drummer Andre Kvarnstom. Their debut record, 2014’s self-titled, Blues Pills, grabbed the attention of fans and critics alike, and they began drawing larger and larger crowds at their live shows. Given they have already opened for the likes of Deep Purple, and the cover art of their last record was a 1960’s artistic throwback, the band is finding a niche sound and eschewing in a new era of blues-inspired rock music.
Blues Pills are set to release their 2nd full length record, entitled Lady In Gold, in the fall of 2016. The band is currently on a European tour with dates scheduled until mid-November with fellow Nuclear Blast label-mates Kadaver.
