Bob Weir to Perform at NAMM with High-Profile Friends
Grateful Dead guitarist Bob Weir will front a “supergroup,” of sorts, for a private concert to be staged later this month at the NAMM trade show in Los Angeles. Joining Weir for the set will be Rock and Roll Hall of Fame drummer Matt Sorum, steel guitar virtuoso Robert Randolph, legendary Steely Dan/Doobie Brothers guitarist “Skunk” Baxter, and the ever-versatile Rascals instrumentalist Gene Cornish. The performance is being put together to commemorate the introduction of D’Angelico Guitars new Bob Weir Signature Series model.
Scheduled for Friday, Jan. 20, the “Bob Weir and Friends” set promises to be a high point of this year’s annual NAMM convention, a gathering that organizers rightly describe as “the world’s largest trade-only event for the music products industry.” Fabrizio Sotti will open the show, which will take place at the D’Angelico Guitars Booth 212AB. The invitation-only performance is part of a VIP Party put together by D’Angelico for dealers, distributors and publications.
