Elliot Smith Either/Or 20th Anniversary Reissue
Beloved singer/songwriter Elliott Smith and his 1997 album Either/Or will be receiving the reissue treatment to accompany the 20th anniversary of its release. The reissue is slated for release on March 10th via Kill Rock Stars. The record will also offer the previously unreleased track “I Figured You Out”, from 1995 studio sessions. The reissue is rife with rarities including a live set of five songs recorded at the 1997 Yo Yo A Go Go Festival in Olympia, WA as well as unreleased versions of Smith staples “New Monkey”, “I Don’t Think I’m Ever Gonna Figure It Out, “ and “Bottle Up And Explode.”
Elliott Smith was an indie darling with whispery vocals and tangible textured guitar, he gained footing when he launched a solo career in 1994 and rose to fame with the release of the song “Miss Misery” from the soundtrack to Good Will Hunting which garnered him an Oscar nomination in 1998. Smith passed away in 2003 with five albums to his name including his self-titled 1995 album Elliott Smith, 1998’s XO, and 2000’s Figure 8.
