Great news from the Glenn Hughes camp: the classic-rock icon has just finished recording his new solo album. Recording took place in Copenhagen, Denmark, where he’s currently mixing the material and making supporting videos. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer (inducted this year as a member of Deep Purple) anticipates a fall release for the new disc.
“It’s hard to talk about music that I’m making, as the music does all the talking …,” writes Hughes, in a recent Facebook post. “But I can honestly say that in my humble opinion this record is my greatest SOLO of my career … All killer … No filler …my spiritual condition is in connected on every beat and breath and lyric on this album … Can’t wait for you to hear … I plan on releasing in mid to late October – in time for my European tour.”
Hughes produced the album himself, along with guitarist Søren Andersen. In addition to Andersen, Hughes’ backing band includes Pontus Engborg on drums and Lachlan “Lachy” Doley on keyboards.
