Kings of Chaos Set to Rock Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach
Fans of car-racing will be treated to a very special “bonus” event at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach on Saturday, April 8. Appearing on-stage for the racing event’s popular Saturday night Rock-N-Roar Concert will be Kings of Chaos—a “super group” featuring Billy Idol, ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons, and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Matt Sorum, among others. The brainchild of Sorum—who recently wrapped up a stint with the Alice Cooper-led Hollywood Vampires—Kings of Chaos is an international all-star band comprised of a revolving lineup of rock and roll icons. In addition to Idol, Gibbons, and Sorum, the lineup for the Long Beach concert will feature Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington, Stone Temple Pilots’ Robert DeLeo and Dean DeLeo, and The Cult’s Billy Duffy.
“I am really looking forward to playing for racing fans in the town where I was born,” said Sorum. “The Grand Prix of Long Beach is the coolest event going.”
Idol was equally enthusiastic. “Fast cars, rock-and-roll music and hot chicks!” he said. “What could be better than that?”
Kings of Chaos’s set list will include hit songs from ZZ Top, Billy Idol, The Cult, Stone Temple Pilots and others. The concert, which will take place on the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center outdoor stage, will begin following racing activities (at approximately 6 p.m.) and is free to race ticket holders. “This unique Kings of Chaos ‘super group’ concert format featuring so many famous artists will be a huge draw and a fantastic addition to our already impressive Super Saturday lineup,” said Jim Michaelian, president and CEO of the Grand Prix Association of Long Beach.
