Nashville’s own Kings of Leon, have scored their first Billboard #1 record with the October 14th release of WALLS. The band’s 7th album pushed a total of 77,000 units in its first week of release buoyed by singles,  “Waste a Moment” “WALLS” and “Around the World”. Kings of Leon have had 3 previous records reach the top 10 including their last two, 2010’s Come Around Sundown, and 2013’s Mechanical Bull both debuting at #2. Their 2008 smash, Only By the Night, managed to make it to #4 on the strength of modern rock classics “Sex on Fire”, and “Use Somebody”.

The band, comprised of three brothers and their cousin, formed in 2000 under an influence of southern rock and blues. Their first record Youth & Young Manhood was released in 2003 and quickly garnered attention. But it wasn’t until the aforementioned Only By the Night that the band became household names; achieving platinum album status. The band has won numerous awards in the US and Europe including the 2010 Grammy for Record of the Year.

Kings of Leon are slated to begin a world tour January, 2017
