Liam Gallagher To Play Osheaga Festival
Liam Gallagher, the former Oasis and Beady Eye lead singer, will be perforning his first ever North American solo concert. Alas, the show is not until August 4th at Montreal’s Osheaga Festival, but it’s a step in the right direction. Along with the Montreal show the singer will be playing a select handful of international festivals in Serbia, Spain, and France.
Gallagher has also teased that he has an album’s worth of new material and performed one new song at an impromptu gig at an Irish pub recently. In an interview with Q about the solo material, Gallagher quickly shut down rumors of a full-on solo venture citing “there are just 10, 11 songs I’ve written that are eligible to be recorded.”
Gallagher burst onto the scene in the early 90s with his brother, Noel Gallagher, in the band Oasis. The two were known as much for their constant bickering as their Beatles-esque form of Brit-pop. They went global with 1995’s (What’s the Story) Morning Glory eventually breaking up in 2009. Liam Gallagher went on to form the band Beady Eye which disbanded in 2014.
