New Metallica Record Coming This Fall
Metallica is back after an 8 year absence with a blistering new song from their upcoming new record, their first since 2008’s Death Magnetic. Hardwire…To Self Destruct, is slated for release this fall in a variety of formats including a huge boxed set complete with lithographs, pins, and other Metallica swag. The metal legends 11th studio record is a 2-disc offering with 80+ minutes of brand new music. The first single, a breakneck, thrash-metal party gem, entitled “Hardwired” debuted on a Facebook Live broadcast from their San Francisco studio last week. and has been blowing up on social media. The Metallica camp has been ramping up the anticipation for a new album in the past year, dropping hints about the record, showing snippets from the studio, and debuting a new song “Lords of Summer” on their 2014 Metallica by Request tour. If “Hardwired” is any indication of the band’s direction, we should all be pretty stoked.
Metallica played the first ever live concert at the newly constructed U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota on August 20th with special guests Avenged Sevenfold and Volbeat.
Hardwired…To Self-Destruct is scheduled for release on November 18th.
