Black Sabbath are marking their last trip to Southern California by once again headlining the Ozzfest stage on their farewell tour. Ozzfest is marking its 20th anniversary by joining forces with fellow metal kings Slipknot for a weekend of diverse and influential heavy metal. The combined festival is set for September 24th and 25th at the San Manuel Amphitheater and Festival Grounds in San Bernardino, CA.
Ozzfest founder, Ozzy Osbourne, and Slipknot front man, Corey Taylor, were on hand at the press conference to “wreak havoc and history” while speaking to their merging festivals and a weekend featuring 40+ acts on multiple stages. The press conference also featured a performance from the Zakk Wylde led Zakk Sabbath alongside members of Slipknot and Disturbed.
The diverse Ozzfest lineup includes Black Sabbath, Disturbed, Megadeth, and Opeth with Knotfest headliners Slipknot, Slayer, and Anthrax along with a wide array other featured acts. Festival-goers will also be offered a variety of events and activities on the festival grounds including a monster truck arena, carnival games, and an 85 person traveling troupe of freaks.
Black Sabbath is currently on their farewell tour and begin the 2nd leg of their North American run in August. Slipknot has appeared at 5 Ozzfest festivals with their latest in 2013, and started their well-received Knotfest tour in 2012. Tickets go on sale Friday, May 20th at 10:00 AM at OZZFEST.com and KNOTFEST.com.
