Paul McCartney kicks off tour with “A Hard Day’s Night”

04/15/2016

Paul McCartney kicked off his 2016 One On One Tour in Fresno, CA this past Wednesday night with guns blazing.  Opening with his first-ever live solo performance of “A Hard Day’s Night”, he treated the 16,000 capacity crowd to an epic, career-spanning set.

Over the course of three hours, Sir Paul ran through 38 songs, both old and new, with the same infectious energy of that young man playing Ed Sullivan for the first time fifty years ago.  At the concert’s half-way point a touching tribute to late Beatles producer, George Martin, segued into “Love Me Do”, another solo debut for McCartney.

With some between-song story-telling, along with tributes to the late John Lennon and George Harrison, McCartney welcomed the enthusiastic crowd to engage with him in the past while still celebrating the present.
