Roger Waters Offers Preview of New Album
Roger Waters recently provided fans with a glimpse of what to expect from his forthcoming solo album. The former Pink Floyd member posted a short video on Instagram of himself playing bass in the studio, with producer Nigel Godrich at his side. In addition, Waters shared a photo of himself and Godrich enjoying a break from doing sessions for the LP.
Due in May, the yet-to-be-titled album will be Waters’ first rock album of new material since 1992’s Amused to Death. In 2007, the veteran musician released a three-act opera titled Ca Ira. The release of the new record will come just prior to the start of Waters’ 2017 “Us + Them” North American tour. The 36-city trek kicks off on May 26 in St. Louis, and wraps up on October 28 in Vancouver.
“We are going to take a new show on the road, the content is very secret,” said Waters, as reported by Uncut. “It’ll be a mixture of stuff from my long career, stuff from my years with Pink Floyd, some new things. Probably 75% of it will be old material and 25% will be new, but it will be all connected by a general theme. It will be a cool show, I promise you. It’ll be spectacular like all my shows have been.”
