Rolling Stones Announce 2017 “No Filter” European Tour
The “World’s Greatest Rock and Roll Band” is kicking into gear once again. On Tuesday (May 9), the Rolling Stones announced they will spend most of September and October touring Europe, performing 13 shows across the continent. Dubbing the trek the “No Filter Tour,” the group will stage concerts in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Holland, Denmark, Sweden, and France.
In an official press release, the Stones promised to “include a couple of unexpected tracks each night,” as well as “randomly selected surprises from their formidable arsenal of songs.” A spectacular new production and state of the art stage design was promised as well.
“I’m so excited to be touring Europe this autumn and returning to some familiar places and some we’ve never done before,” said Mick Jagger, in a prepared statement
“Hey Guys, here we come,” echoed Keith Richards. “See you there!!!!”
The European dates come during a period of resurgence for the Stones. The band’s most recent album, Blue & Lonesome, was released to rave reviews in December 2016, and plans for an LP of new material is said to be in the works. An acclaimed documentary film, titled ‘Olé Olé Olé! A Trip Across Latin America, will be available on home video later this month.
